WHY ARTlicious.....

When asked what's the most important thing to me in life, my answer has to be "Good Health" .  I truly believe living a good quality life is an art in itself...  a choice we can all make and adhere to.  People who live holistically choose healthy organic foods, keep their mind and body active, and practice forms of stress relief such as creating art or yoga.  Our body, mind and soul are interconnected.  Taking good care of ourselves is something we can all do to love and respect ourselves.

Art has always been a part of my life.  I feel truly blessed for all the opportunities I had earlier in life.  I am very grateful to my parents who sent me to lessons in piano, music composition, ballet and fine art and kept me motivated throughout the years.  They believe art training can strengthen a child's problem solving and critical thinking skills, encourage exploration and trying of new ideas, and develop graceful personality and poise.  After years of training that led to completion of dual Royal Conservatory of Music ACRT diplomas in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy and over 20 years of teaching kids and adults, I find that the process of sharing knowledge is an amazing experience, something I truly enjoy doing.

One of my other passions is to create food that is healthy to the body but also delicious to our senses.  In retrospect of my formal education at U of T, my study in the field of Nutritional Sciences (Clinical Research) was a crossover of science and art.  A major part of my postgraduate program had to do with being creative with food....we experimented and created recipes for novel functional food and conducted clinical trials to investigate their health benefits.  You won't believe how much fun I had while studying!!

“The kind of people society needs to make it move forward are thinking, inventive people who seek new ways and improvements, not people who can only follow directions.  Art is a way to encourage the process and the experience of thinking and making things better...”quoted from MaryAnn Kohl, an Arts Educator and Author.

ARTlicious is a special place I created to bring you finer and enjoyable things in life; and to offer the learning opportunities that encourage expression, creativity and socialization.  I invite you to come by and share my love for arts and food.
